We often receive questions regarding which manufacturer produces the most reliable hard drives. Failures happen across all brands; sadly there is no manufacturer which has perfect reliability. However the folks over at Backblaze have posted a write up with drive reliability numbers in their data center which certainly show a trend. They used drives from HGST, Seagate, and Western Digital, and have disclosed their results, with HGST coiming out on top in terms of failure rates. Microsoft has announced today that Windows 10 will be made available to all users of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 for free for 1 year after release. We think you’ll be pretty happy with this based on our experiences with the early technical previews; Windows 10 addresses many of the complaints consumers have expressed with Windows 8/8.1.
