Seagate and Western Digital cut hard drive warranties

The Register is reporting that starting in 2012 both Seagate and Western Digital will be cutting back their warranties on hard drives to as little as one year on some product lines. Details can be found here: The Register

Dell Exits Netbook Market.

Will netbooks, like PDAs, soon be a thing of the past? Dell thinks so, and will soon cease offering their Atom powered Dell Mini, citing low demand due to tablets and ultra books.

First 1TB 2.5" SSD

OCZ will soon release the first 2.5" (notebook formfactor) 1TB SSD drive. Pricing has yet to be determined, though it is suspected it will be priced in the thousands.

Hard Drive Market May Take Year to Recover

PC Perspective is reporting that executives from hard drive manufacturing companies are reporting it may take until the end of 2012 to fully recover from the damage done by flooding in Thailand. This of course means storage prices will remain high for quite a while.
